CAST

Chris Butler (sam) has appeared in movies and television such as Cradle to the Grave, Numbers, The Closer, Charmed, Roswell, One on One, E.R., Two Guys and a Girl, First Years, The Bold and the Beautiful and Closer to Home. On stage, Chris is a veteran of Shakespeare with Oregon Shakespeare, Globe Theatre, Shakespeare L.A. and Illinois Shakespeare. Butler has also starred in the national tour of Blue, A Raisin in the Sun and The Piano Lesson. He recently starred as Eugene in Yellowman at the Fountain Theatre, directed by Shirley Jo Finney, for which he won an Ovation Award, NAACP Award, Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award and a Garland Award. The Hollywood Reporter has called him "outstanding and compelling." And he has been reviewed as "virtuosic, focused and poignant" by the Los Angeles Times.

Laura Lee Bahr (audrey/angel) the little Death marks Laura's third produced work as screenwriter/actor with her first being UltraGirl, the story of a real comic book superheroine. On her starring debut in Jesus Freak, Variety wrote of a "quality to Bahr's gentle, nuanced performance that solidly anchors the film." The film went on to win the Milagro Award at the Santa Fe Film Festival. Laura herself has won the Ad Astra Award at the Tallgrass Film Festival and Best Actress & Best Screenplay at VISIONFEST in Tribeca, NYC. She has appeared in movies and television such as call me lulu, Lift, Zorgot, Unsolved Mysteries and Malcolm in the Middle. She won (and thus was not) The Weakest Link in 2002. Laura is a member of The Eclectic Company Theatre, and is currently working on several screenplays and a master's thesis.

Oded Gross (buddy) has performed in movies and television such as Back When we were Grown-ups, Jesus Freak, Bacon Wagon, Ritual, The 60's, Guinevere, The List and Venus on the Hard Drive. He has appeared on The Shield, Rock Me Baby and Karen Sisco. He is also an accomplished playwright, and has toured with his own smash commedia dell'arte show, "Tragedy: A Comedy."

G. Maximilian Zarou (hal) was born and raised in the City of Angels and attended Pomona College, where his performances in such diverse roles as Agamemnon in a Kabuki-style Greek tragedy and a hard-drinking chain-smoking Jesus Christ in a student film garnered him much praise from his immediate family. It wasn't until he met director Morgan Nichols and bought his way into the lofilm community that his gift for unscripted comedy was fully exploited. An actor at heart since birth, Max's considerable talents are currently being wasted on his fifth grade students at Hoover Street Elementary in Downtown L.A, who, although they love his James Mason impression, are still confused about the finer points of decimal division.

Tatiana Piccone (flo) Tatiana Piccone was most notably seen as sassy waitress Sarah in the WB's What I Like About You. She was in such films as The Moment After and Memphis. Most recent theatre roles include Teresa in The Italian American Reconciliation, the title role in The Duchess of Malfi, Inez in Rave, Bakkai, and Desdemona in Othello. Tatiana is part of the Contreras/Piccone writing team, with their first pilot currently in development.

Regan Forman (candy) Regan lives with Oded and their two gorgeous children. She has worked with Laura and Morgan on many of their past endeavors from as far back as a music video about Vincent Van Gogh to Jesus Freak. Although she prefers to only work on Morgan's movies, Regan has also been on Grey's Anatomy, Just Shoot Me, Memron and Enough as well as some HBO & TNT movies.

Mandy Freund (vivaca voom) Film: 40 Year-Old Virgin, Of Mice and Men, the little Death. Television: Close To Home, West Wing, Charmed, ER, Undeclared, Education of Max Bickford, The Division, Popular, 7th Heaven, Judging Amy. Theater: Premiere of Red Light/Green Light (Theater of Note); Premiere of Cold/Tender (Theater at Boston Court); King Lear (Festival de Frictions, Dijon, France) Danny Boy (Taper New Works); Dear Charlotte (Powerhouse, New York Fringe); Don Carlos (Evidence Room); Premiere of Onionheads (Kennedy Center).

Karen Reynosa (kimmy) the little Death marks Karen Reynosa's first feature film appearance. Karen teaches Science to High School students, so she's no stranger to acting or being on stage. A native Southern Californian, Karen grew up performing numerous skits and plays for family gatherings, a talent she now shares with her 3 children, Megan, Tessa and Jackson. In her spare time, Karen enjoys surfing and skiing with her kids and supporting local music, art and politically liberal friends and causes by throwing infamously fun parties at her home in Ventura, CA.

Kate Vincent (candy cane girl) Born and raised in no one particular united state, Kate Vincent makes her Movie Farm screen debut in the little Death. A newlywed who recently moved to Maine with her new hubby and step-son, Kate currently spends her time working as a baker, adding domestic touches to her new home, and eating the worm found at the bottom of authentic tequila bottles.

CREW

Morgan K. Nichols (director, producer) has directed two award-winning features -- the surreal/divine teen comedy Jesus Freak and now the little Death. With degrees in theater and cinema from Brandeis University and USC respectively, Morgan applied a decade of training to a directing career that was already in full swing. Now, twenty-five years after his first super-8 movie, Morgan continues to seek out revolutionary methods and inspirational content. He is quite pleased to be part of this generation of digital filmmakers, poised at the very edge of post-Hollywood cinema.

David S. Danesh (cinematographer, producer) worked as cinematographer, editor and co-producer of Jesus Freak, and is the writer, director and editor of the short film The Road Not Taken. He has shot and edited documentaries and corporate videos for the Jewish Federation of O.C., Watson Wyatt Worldwide, Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce and Brandeis University. He is currently in pre-production as the creator of a five film documentary on how children are educated, called The Effect of Education.

Martin Criss (production sound) Long-time friend and Movie Farm cohort, Martin Criss adds his talents to the little Death in the way of Sound Engineering and Editing, with a little comic relief on the side. Martin has failed spectacularly at many, many creative endeavors, none of which we've heard of. He is a talented musician with a singing voice that would tame even the likes of Courtney Love. He debuted in the lo-film, The Invisible Gun, a western with a kick and has continued to be a valued member of the Movie Farm family working on Jesus Freak and other notable lo-films. He currently makes his living as a babysitter in Portales, NM and is working alone on a feature length documentary about himself entitled, "Martin Criss' Movie About Himself."

Eric Pulier (executive producer) An author, entrepeneur, and investor, Mr. Pulier is best known as a pioneer in the software and interactive media industries. The most successful and best-known venture capital groups in the world have financed companies that Mr. Pulier has founded or co-founded. A popular public speaker at major conferences around the globe, Pulier is most often found in Los Angeles with his four children: Jake, Will, Chloe and Georgia. He is a member of the board of directors for the Center for Telecommunications Management, Artist Direct, the Institute for Critical Information Infrastructure Protection, and the U.S. Beachhead of the New Zealand Government's Trade and Economics initiative.

Lonny Zion (producer, assistant director) Lonny Zion has been a singer and an actor for all of his days. He got his MFA from the USC School of Cinema-Television a few years ago. Since then he has been writing, trying to raise money for his first feature, and recording his first album. Lonny was happy to lend a hand as a Producer for hire for free to the lovely Morgan and Laura for the little Death. He likes monkeys and once saw a bunny.

Lori Meeker (costume designer, set decorator) A passion for costume design coupled with a mean artistic eye made for the perfect addition of creative talent on the set of the little Death, Lori Meeker's first feature length film. Lori studied fine arts at the L.A. County High School for the Arts, and moved on to Pasadena City College to study fashion design and theatrical costuming. She currently works as a freelance costume designer and seamstress creating costumes for several television shows including The Drew Carey Show, Just Shoot Me, Less than Perfect, and Desperate Housewives. Her work has also been featured in such well known films as Austin Powers in Goldmember, Win a Date with Tad Hamilton, Stuck on You, and the latest lo-film sleeper success, A Winkle in Time, amongst many others. She is also the in-store sign/chalkboard artist for Trader Joe's Eagle Rock. Lori is currently writing and illustrating her own comic, entitled Sidewalks, and looks forward to working with the stellar crew of the little Death and Movie Farm again soon!

Ashley Matsui (assistant director) Ashley Matsui left college with a dream of being a screenwriter only to fall into a career in software. Meeting Laura Bahr, Morgan Nichols and Nathan Nichols the first week she returned to her home city of Los Angeles was nothing less than fate in her mind. To Ashley, the collaborative minds that make up Movie Farm were a shining testament to the fact that one can balance both career and a passion for movie making. Her creative list of achievements is short, but heart-felt and includes the little Death and renegade weekends shooting lo-films. Her favorite bands are the Beez, the Holy Cats and the Beastie Boys, for whom she shares a tribute ankle tattoo with Laura Bahr. She also cat-sat and sent care packages full of junk mail and bills to the crew of Jesus Freak back in 2002. You can currently find Ashley applying the 1st AD skills she refined on the set of the little Death towards managing software release schedules and teams of programmers in Santa Monica, CA. Westside, baby. Westside.

Rachel Klimke (set design) Rachel Klimke, a.k.a. Raekol (pronounced ray-cool), has been an inspiring accomplice in nearly every Movie Farm venture to date. Her set design vision and acting abilities have been highlighted in Jesus Freak, several lo-films and now, the little Death. In the little Death she takes a would be cookie-cutter Los Angeles apartment and transforms it time and again from a vacant bachelor pad to the Christmas riddled home of holiday tribute and sin. Her shining set design achievement was the trophy filled bedroom of Christy in Jesus Freak, a movie in which she also made her acting debut for Movie Farm. Rachel is currently pursuing her Masters and teaching degree from Cal State University, Long Beach where she spends her days attending class and working in the Women's Studies department. She is a true activist and humanitarian who proudly supports the pursuit of truth, justice and the overthrowing of George W. Bush. Born and raised in "The Valley", the movie business has been part of her life since birth, whether or not she chose to acknowledge it.

Adam Svatek (art department) Raised amongst the vast corn fields of Iowa State, Adam Svatek arrived in Los Angeles armed with only a suitcase and a vision. Upon arrival he was thrust into the world of art department and production design as he began his media career on the sets of hip-hop videos featuring the likes of Master P, Snoop Dog, and Daft Punk, where his work inevitably helped make Dave Meyers & Michele Gondry the Directors they are today. Bored with the likes of music videos, Adam learned the skills of Editorial and Post Mastin, and currently resides as the Post-Producer/Editor of Ground Zero Advertising. Long-time listener, first-time caller, the little Death marks Adam's first working venture with Movie Farm. Adam currently contemplates the idea mastering yet another craft by perhaps taking up Kung-Fuey and/or Bonsai discipline, so keep a look out for other touches of Tungsten. (It's a super strong metal.)
